While other B1 USA teams participated in the Dimitri Cup in Lakewood Ranch, the U13 Girls converged to Wellington Green Park to participate in the Wellington Cup 2021.
The U13 Girls impressed us more than once in the last tournaments. They have been playing very bravely and improving a team. Last weekend, they faced yet another challenge as they were going to face some strong teams from South West Florida.
Their first game on the 16th faced our girls against Cooper City Cobras. The Girls were able to play very well and create chances, overcoming their opponents by one goal, a final score of 2-1.
Afterward, the Girls had to face Parkland who appeared to have a strong team. The girls did not flinch one inch and defended their colors in the best way they could.
Both teams played with great possession, it was an incredible game to watch, and we are proud that our Girls were able to overcome their rivals, winning 2-1.
Furthermore, the next game was one of the reasons why our girls participated in the tournament. They had the chance to play against the number #2 in the State, Wellington FC.
We can say that they did an amazing job and were able to make it difficult for the opposition. Even though the girls came up short, they proved they could compete against everyone, holding on to their fighting spirit until the end.
They conceded a goal in the very last minute of the game, which is unfortunate, but sometimes in football unpredictable events occur and we learn from it.
We are sure it helped the U13 Girls grow a bit more as a team, increasing their confidence and giving them motivation for the next competitions ahead.
We are very proud of every single one of the players and congratulation to Coach Ezio Fabrizi for the amazing work!
