To our great pleasure, the B1 Family from the USA decided to pay us a visit to the beautiful city of Barcelona, Spain to participate in a renowned international soccer tournament!
Not only did they come to visit Barcelona and the mother Academy but they also came to compete in an international tournament called “Copa Catalunya” organized by KOMMIT. They have been staying for three days until leaving for Malgrat de Mar and Calella de Mar for the Copa Catalunya.
On the first day, the 23rd of June, our B1 staff welcomed the players and families and dedicated the day to visiting the old part of Barcelona known as “Barrio Gótico”. After a good Spanish lunch, the B1 staff brought all the players to the training ground for an afternoon session with our coaches.
Indeed, it is quite exciting for the B1 USA players and families to finally get to see the B1 Soccer Academy in Barcelona. Of course, it is the end of the season and a lot of our players have already left to enjoy summer, but the visitors were able to enjoy the format that we usually work with.
Moreover, we had the pleasure to present some of our players who are staying for the summer. Players like Justan and Yibeltal were more than happy to spend some time with the young American talents.
Moreover, more than visiting and enjoying some Spanish gastronomy, the B1 USA players had the opportunity to train for a couple of days with the B1 coaches. This was the perfect opportunity for the players to get an insight into how we operate but most importantly get ready and build confidence before the tournament.
Some of the B1 USA players have already experienced the B1 CAMPS that took place in Fort Myers, Florida but for them getting a taste of the full experience here in Barcelona was definitely something special.
Visit the beautiful city of Barcelona
Indeed, more than training and getting ready for the upcoming tournament, the B1 USA players also had some free time with our B1 staff to visit Barcelona.
Last Friday, the whole group had the immense pleasure to visit the Camp Nou facilities. From the field to the locker room, and to the trophy rooms the B1 players loved the Blaugrana atmosphere. After doing the whole tour we were able to enjoy a shooting game against the RoboKeeper, what a challenge!
The very next day, after the morning training, everyone headed towards the mythical Sagrada Familia. After enjoying the incredible views, the whole group started walking toward Plaza Catalunya and Passeig de Gracia to enjoy Gaudi’s Houses.
Furthermore, we were able to enjoy the Plaza de la Cathedral and Plaza de Sant Jaume, two really popular places that attract a lot of curious eyes.
Before leaving for the Residence, our American teammates wanted to try some typical Jamon as well as other delights, so our B1 Staff brought everyone to the Boqueria.
On Sunday, before leaving for the international tournament, everyone was invited to a restaurant where we could enjoy a proper Paella and amazing Catalan dishes.
It was a pleasure to share football knowledge and spend some quality time with all of you! Go B1!
